Clarification on Treatment of Excisable Products Affixed with Old Generation of Excise Stamps

Further to the public notice of 25th January 2022 on “Roll-Out of New Generation of Excise Stamps and Return of Unused Old Generation of Excise Duty Stamps”, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) wishes to clarify to  manufacturers and importers of excisable products and the public  that any excisable goods that were manufactured and affixed with the old generation excise stamps on or before the deadline for utilising those stamps will be allowed in the market until the expiry of the shelf life of the goods.

Manufacturers and importers of excisable goods are reminded that the deadline for utilizing old generation excise stamps and returning unused old generation excise stamps is as indicated below : -

 

Wines, Spirits, RTD, Beer, OTP

Water, Soft drinks and Juices

Tobacco (reels & pre-cuts) and Keg

Last date to utilise the old generation excise stamps

5th January 2022

26th January 2022

28th February 2022

Last date to return old generation excise stamps to KRA

18th February 2022

28th March 2022

29th March 2022
