KRA commits to enhance service delivery, facilitate compliance

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has today reiterated its commitment to facilitate taxpayers and business community through the implementation of its service excellence programme.

The programme aimed at ensuring that KRA delivers outstanding services to taxpayers through the development of an effective positive professional customer service culture, has been enhanced through investment of technology.

Speaking during the launch of 2022 Taxpayers’ Month Launch, KRA Commissioner General Mr Githii Mburu said that the Authority shall be more agile and facilitate taxpayers to meet their obligation.

“As KRA transitions to Kenya Revenue Service (KRS), we want to assure our taxpayers that their tax needs are our priority. For instance, the Authority has embarked on an aggressive programme to engage non-compliant taxpayers and no businesses will be closed”. Said the Commissioner General.

He said that KRA is now aligned to becoming a customer centric institution, which is core to the organization’s strategy. The Authority will continue to simplify its processes and adopt a friendlier approach in the manner in which it interacts with taxpayers.

Speaking during the event, KRA Board Chairman Amb. Francis Muthaura said that KRA has continuously revolutionised tax system with the goal of enhancing efficiency and improve customer satisfaction. This is because providing user-friendly services strengthens willingness to comply.

“Some of the initiatives KRA has implemented to enhance service delivery include rigorous good governance practice, the application of modern technology in all KRA processes and operations. In all these, our customer, the taxpayer is the focus of our interest”. Said Amb. Muthaura.

During the 2022 Taxpayers’ Month launch, KRA unveiled its web-based TV dubbed ‘KRA TV’. This web-based TV will create a platform for taxpayers’ engagements and enable KRA to receive feedback for consistent improvement of service delivery for enhanced compliance.

This year’s Taxpayer Month is the 18th consecutive celebration since its inception. The event is organized customarily to celebrate tax compliance and honour the self-sacrifice of our patriotic taxpayers for their contribution towards the country's economic development.
