Public participation for Tax Invoice Management System

It is a requirement of the VAT Act 2013 for every registered person to keep in the course of business, a full and true written record of every transaction made, whether in electronic form or otherwise.

Further the Commissioner may require any person to use an electronic tax register, of such type and description as may be prescribed, for the purpose of accessing information regarding any matter or transaction which may affect the tax liability of the person.

It is against this background that Kenya Revenue Authority wishes to introduce the Tax Invoice Management System (TIMS), which is an enhancement of the current ETR Programme. TIMS will enable automatic reporting of tax invoice transactions.

In compliance with statutory provisions, we wish to carry out countrywide public participation forums starting with the following:
